Convert iPhone HEIC photos to compatible JPG files instantly. Complete local conversion with zero uploads, custom quality, and batch downloads.

Runs in your browser. Files are never uploaded.
Choose files or drag and drop here

Supports .heic, .heif, image/heic, image/heif • 100% processed locally on your device

Photos captured on recent iPhone and iPad devices are saved in the modern HEIC format by default to economize storage space. While HEIC offers excellent compression efficiency, many Windows PCs, Android phones, online application portals, and social media platforms still do not support opening or uploading HEIC files.

This tool converts your HEIC photos directly into universally supported JPG files entirely within your web browser. Because the conversion process runs locally on your device, your private personal photos are never uploaded to any remote server.

How to Convert HEIC to JPG

1

Choose or Drop HEIC Photos

Select one or more .heic files from your phone or computer, or drag them directly into the dropzone.

2

Adjust Quality Factor

Select your preferred JPG output quality using the slider. A value of 85 to 90 percent is optimal for photos.

3

Convert and Download

Click Convert to process your files in seconds and download your JPGs individually or bundled in a ZIP archive.

Why Apple Uses HEIC and Why You Need JPG

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) was adopted by Apple in iOS 11 as the default camera capture format. Based on the HEVC video compression standard, HEIC produces images that are roughly half the file size of an equivalent JPG while maintaining equal or superior visual fidelity. It also supports 16-bit color palettes and sequence containers for Live Photos.

However, widespread compatibility across older desktop software, photo print kiosks, government visa portals, and corporate intranets remains limited. Converting to standard JPEG remains the most reliable method to share photos universally.

Practical Tips

  • For web forms with strict file size limits under 500 KB, set the quality slider to 75 percent.
  • If you frequently need JPG on iPhone, you can change your iPhone camera format under Settings > Camera > Formats to Most Compatible.

Honest Limits

  • Live Photo video clips are not included; only the primary still image is converted.
  • Extremely large batches on mobile phones with limited RAM may process sequentially to avoid memory pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will converting HEIC to JPG reduce photo quality?

JPEG uses lossy compression, so there is technically a slight alteration. However, at quality settings of 85 percent and above, differences are imperceptible to the human eye.

Are my private photos uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion algorithm runs entirely in client-side WebAssembly inside your browser. No files are transmitted over the internet.

Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?

Yes. You can select up to 30 files in a single batch, and download the results as a single ZIP archive.

Why do Windows computers fail to open HEIC files natively?

Windows requires the installation of specific HEVC video extensions from the Microsoft Store, which are not included by default on all systems.
